The sixth major expansion to World Of Warcraft is set to launch on the 30th of August, and will be available to players as an additional cost on top of their subscription fees. Purchasing the expansion will grant players access to new activities, levelling zones, dungeons, raids and the Demon Hunter class and will also come with a complimentary level 100 character boost. As Legion is required for players to continue their adventure from the current point and access almost all future content, it only makes sense that you would want to purchase it as cheaply as possible. Here’s a quick round-up of some notable online retailers and the prices they’re offering the expansion for. Please keep in mind that high street retailers may charge different prices to their online counterparts.
Blizzard - £34.99
Shopto - £29.85
Game -£27.99
Amazon - £27.99
Very - £24.99
But what about pre-purchasing Legion? Pre-purchasing allows players to enter their game code early and gain instant access to the Demon Hunter class and the level 100 character boost. Some retailers are not offering the pre-purchase version, some are for the same price as the pre-order, and some at a higher price. Very does not offer pre-purchase, Game does for the same price, Amazon does for the same price and Shopto offers (at current) the pre-purchase version for around £3 extra.
If you’re to order the standard, non pre-purchase version of the game, your copy may be sent out early, but may also not arrive until the day of launch. One customer review on Very stated that they had already received the retail disk, but a company like Amazon is unlikely to send the retail copy out until launch. Any version of the game you order from Blizzard will instantly activate ownership of Legion on your account and allow you to access the pre-purchase content. Addendum: Unfortunately we weren’t able to get this article out as quickly as we’d hoped, so please be aware that prices and stock levels may have changed since. All information was correct at the time of writing. We hope that this can still serve as a rough guide to what’s available leading up to the launch of the game in a week.
