A new playable god has been announced for Smite in the form of Erlang Shen. Shen is a Chinese warrior and the first since the release of Guan Yu. It seems that he will be a stance-switching god with spear based attacks, and data-mining suggesting an ability with crowd control effects and other lore-based abilities based on his many disguises and transformations. As with past gods, Shen will likely be released for 11,000 Favour and should be released in patch 3.12 on Tuesday the 5th of July. More (potential) news on the upcoming god Terra has surfaced as she is now being rumoured to be some sort of dedicated protection and healing mage with terrain shifting abilities. Details of a Summer event have also been rumoured with rewards including a Mermaid Pedestal and a Hawaiian Beach music theme. We can also expect to see official announcements regarding game modes, with a dedicated Egyptian themed map on the horizon and a possible rework/update to Siege.

The Viking Invasion promotion has run for the last few patches but will officially end on the morning of July 5th and disappear with the introduction of patch 3.12 later that afternoon. The challenges don't seem particularly difficult so make sure to finish up your quest lines if you have taken part in the event or start and then quickly complete the event if you have not yet and are still interested.
